City to Beautify Streets The city is to beautify the main streets ranging from south to north and east to west. The initial plan specifies two flower streets and one ginkgo avenue. The Hongxing South Extension and the Renmin South Extension are to be decorated with flowers and trees while ginkgo will add color to the road stretching from the Qintai Road to the Hejiangting Pavilion. The Ginkgo Avenue ranges 3.8 kilometers and will go through the Jinli area, which features Sichuan history and culture. The avenue is to become an attraction connecting the key travel sights, business and entertainment spots. Ginkgo is acclaimed as Chengdu’s city tree.
