According to the statistics conducted by Chinese Union Pay in Sichuan section, Chengdu citizens consumed 30.6 million yuan by using credit cards during the seven-day holiday, February 6th to 12th. The number of dealing hit 45,000 and increased 38.7% of last year.
The trading data show that the consumption centralized in the restaurant, supermarket, electronic appliance market and entertainment place. Under the promotion of the commercial banks and Chinese Union Pay, the consumption by using credit card increases year by year. At the end of 2007, there are 740,000 accounts to use Union Card, over 1.18 millions POS, and 120,000 ATM. A standardized net for the use of Union Card has already formed.
Compared with the domestic consumption, the foreign consumption was also high. To travel outbound is a heated choice to pass the holiday for many people. The number of dealing in foreign countries was 540,000, and sum of money reached 1.6 billion yuan which increased 44.5% and 42.6% respectively. The Union Card can be used in 26 countries and regions, including Asia and the Pacific, Europe, America, Australia and Africa.
