Civilization China, a large scale TV media documentary project sponsored by CCTV Science and Education Channel (CCTV-10), will turn it lens to Chengdu to record the real and moving stories happening among Chengdu people, showing the city’s unique cultural and civilized atmosphere, said the source from the press conference of Civilization China, Chengdu Stop.
CCTV-10 firstly launched Civilization China in 2006, concentrating in 80 cities of China. This November, the projected was re-launched, themed as “Welcome Olympics, strive for civilization, and promote a new trend of conduct”, aiming at promoting people’s civilized behavior and a harmonious society.
Chengdu is the first stop and also the most important stop of Civilization China’s tour. “With the development of society, economy and culture, ‘being happy’ becomes a popular and healthy life style. And talking about “happiness”, Chengdu is typical a city with happy atmosphere, which makes a lot of travelers never want to leave once they visit. That’s critical reason that we took Chengdu as the first stop of our tour,” said Wang Jinyou, vice director of CCTV Scientific and Education Center. The new program will focus on volunteers of Chengdu, showing Chengdu’s achievements in promoting volunteers service.
