Major duties:
1.To implement the national and provincial principles, policies, laws and regulations concerning judicial administration; work out standard documents of judicial administration; compile middle and long term planning and annual work planning of judicial administration and supervise the implementation.
2.To monitor the execution of penalties and criminal reforms and supervise the work of reeducating inmates through labor in prisons.
3.To make plans of law system publicity, elementary law knowledge popularization and governing by law and organize the implementation, instruct the work of governing by law in different districts and different trades.
4.To instruct and supervise the work of lawyers, notaries, legal advice, legal aid and complaints by entrepreneurs both from foreign countries and Taiwan.
5.To instruct the people’s mediation, resettlement policy to released persons from prison and persons who finished reeducation through labor and grass root legal service work.
6.Instruct the work of administering by law in the judicial circle; take care of arbitration registration; supervise the professional law bodies and expert testimony work; instruct the education and theory research of law.
7.Being responsible for the judicial law exams in Sichuan.
8.To instruct the planning and financial works in judicial system and material and equipment works like firearms and ammunition, uniforms and vehicles.
9.To instruct the Party building, contingent development and ideological education within judicial system; supervise the leadership teams in provincial-level prisons, above-county (division)-level labor-education units and colleges for cadres of political and judicial management; assist judicial bureaus at city (prefecture, autonomous prefecture) level to govern the cadres; be in charge of personnel work within judicial system and provide training to judicial officers.
10. To implement other matters designated by the Provincial government.
