Major duties:
1.To carry out laws, regulations, principles and policies of health efforts, draw out provincial drafts of principles and rules concerning health , institute the development program, annual plan and technical specifications of the Province’s health work, and supervise their implementation; to manage the Province’s health cause.
2.To implement the guideline of preventing firstly, unfold health education to the entire people; to formulate the program and measures of disease control for the Province, and organize the implementation; to be responsible for the prevention and cure to contagion, endemic and other common ailment and frequently-occurring disease.
3.To direct the efforts of primary health care, women and children health care, rural and community health care; to plan and coordinate health resources allocation for the Province.
4.To supervise and manage the sanitation of foodstuff, occupation, environment, irradiation, school and society; to draw out the management guidelines of the quality of food and makeup, and to be responsible for their authentication.
5. Being responsible for the supervision and management of admittance concerning medical care elements, such as medical organizations, personnel, medical technology application and large-scale medical equipments.
6.To organize, coordinate and deal with of emergencies, such as serious epidemic and diseases, to prevent and control the appearance and spread of epidemic and diseases; to be responsible for monitoring of major diseases and supervision and management of medical care quality.
7.To supervise and manage quality of blood sampling and supplying of blood stations and plasma sampling stations; to organize citizens to donate blood free.
8.To draw out programs and plans of medical treatment scientific research for the Province; to organize the fundamental research and application study of health science and technology; to direct the popularization and application of scientific and technological achievements.
9.To draw out development programs of public health talents and medical education for the Province; institute the norms of occupational ethics for the Provincial health personnel, and strengthen the rectification of working style.
10.To formulate the development programs, policies and measures and practical standard concerning woman and child health care and the improvement of quality of birth; supervise the implementation of laws, regulations and special skills on mothers and infants health care.
11.To carry out the principle of attaching equal importance to traditional Chinese medicine and Western medicine; promote the inheritance and innovation of traditional Chinese medicine, and strive to achieve the modernization of TCM.
12.Being responsible for the medical treatment and health care for people confirmed by the Provincial Cadre Health Care Committee.
13.Being responsible for the multilateral and bilateral cooperation and exchange between governmental and non-governmental and the foreign aids efforts concerning public health.
14.Undertaking the daily routine work of Provincial Patriotic Health Campaign Committee.
15.Undertaking other works assigned by the Provincial Government.
And managing the Chinese Medicine Administration Bureau of Sichuan Province according to the regulations made by the Sichuan Provincial Government .
